The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday rejected Republic TV’s editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami’s plea to transfer a case investigation from Mumbai Police to CBI. The case was filed against him for allegedly defaming the Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. The Supreme Court of India also refused to cancel the FIRs filed against Mr. Goswami.

Earlier,  an FIR by Mumbai Police was filed against Goswami over a TV show hosted by Goswami on gathering of migrants outside Bandra railway station on April 14. It can be mentioned here that multiple FIRs were also filed against the Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami for his show on Palghar Lynching.

In the particular show, Mr. Goswami presented a concoction of news and opinions altogether, questioning the Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in connection to the Palghar Lynching incident.
