As the flood havoc continues in Assam and Bihar, the NDRF’s (National Disaster Response Force) rescue teams are busy with the rescue operations.
The flood in Bihar took the lives of 102 people. While this heavy flood continues, some inspiring stories are coming in from the flood-hit areas.
In Bihar’s Motihari, a woman delivered a baby girl on the rescue boat of National Disaster Response Force on Sunday. As the woman, Sabeena Akhtar informed family members of having labour pain, her family decided to take her to the nearest hospital. While it was flooding all over, the NDRF rescue team came into their help to let her reach the hospital.
While on the way, the woman delivered a baby girl the rescue boat. This became possible with the help of her family members, NDRF nursing help and the ASHA workers who were present on the boat.
Both the mother and child are now reportedly fine; they were later admitted to the Health Centre.
