It is time for Muslims to do introspection

I heard what French President Macron said after the horrifying beheading of a school teacher. He neither criticised Islam nor the Prophet. He only expressed his anguish at this gory incident. So, what is all the fuss about created by many Muslims in many countries?

Even if some people felt Macron insulted the Prophet (which he did not) it would have been best to ignore it. By raising such a hue and cry Muslims are only adding grist to the mill of those who describe and denigrate them as incorrigible fanatics.

I have often praised Islam for spreading the great message of equality, which gave social emancipation to many oppressed people in many parts of the world, and I have praised the Prophet for saying that for knowledge go even to China.

But I am deeply distressed at seeing the behaviour of many Muslims today who seem to have a short fuse. It is time for Muslims to do introspection.
