Fact Check: Can hot and humid climates beat Coronavirus?

At a time when the COVID-19 outbreak is declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation and the virus is spreading worldwide creating panic like situation, there are claims related to the virus infection are creating concerns among public.

One such claim is that ‘hot and humid climates beat Coronvirus’. The claim is indeed found to be a myth and creating panic following an absurd claim.

WHO’s statement

World Health Organisation in one of its content realted to Coronavirus outbreak stated that the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted in all areas, including areas with hot and humid weather.

“Regardless of climate, adopt protective measures if you live in, or travel to an area reporting COVID-19. The best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is by frequently cleaning your hands. By doing this you eliminate viruses that may be on your hands and avoid infection that could occur by then touching your eyes, mouth, and nose,” WHO asserted on its website.

From WHO’s statement, it is clear that the claim is a myth and there is no scientific evidence to believe it in any manner.
