India’s former President Pranab Mukherjee breathed his last on Monday at the army hospital in Delhi. Pranab Mukherjee, known for his contribution to the development of India, died at the age of 84.

Mr. Mukherjee was admitted to the hospital on August 10 and he was tested positive for the coronavirus. From the last 20 days, Mr. Mukherjee was battling with the infection and ‘get well soon’ wishes were outpouring for the former President. Pranab Mukherjee later developed a lung infection and a renal dysfunction.

The nation is mourning the death of the former president who served in the office from 2012 to 2017. With a five decades-long political career, Mr. Mukherjee stood as a strong personality in India’s political aura.
