We need to reconsider India’s democratic stability itself and question the stance of the major institutions that are meant to preserve the democratic and constitutional values of the Indian state. Are we embracing and glorifying a ‘democracy’ that is defenseless and allows open trading of the elected MLAs and MPs? While the question of the limitations of democracy is evident, but in India’s context, even the mere assets of democracy are undermined, confined with the evil deeds of evils, tormented and used as a tool to depreciate the democracy itself while hiding behind the so-called protector of democracy and constitution. Collectively, democracy here is just like that antibiotic that doesn’t work anymore as the disease-causing bacteria develops the resistance accordingly. This is the present stage of democracy in India.
